Annual Police Day Festival

On Saturday May 09 2009, Halton Regional Police will be hosting the 10th annual Police Day Festival, at 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville. In the past, our cadets have been instrumental in making this day the huge success it always is.A request has been made to deploy 25-30 cadet volunteers from 0700-approximately 1730 to assist with set-up, take-down and a variety of different functions throughout the day.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast will include muffins, donuts, coffee, juices and water. Lunch will be a choice of a hot dog or hamburger, pop, and water.

Cadets will be using 1/2 shelters, modular tents and biv site equipment for a weekend camp exercise that will also see them volunteering with the local Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES).

Silver Star Zone Expedition Training

Those cadets enrolled will be attending CFB Borden and a nearby conservation area for a weekend training exercise to familiarize themselves with canoeing, hiking, bicycling, abseiling. This is a mandatory exercise for those wanting to go further with outdoor adventure training exercises.
